Intensive college orientation activities, through contextual reading and writing assignments. Students develop organizational and communication skills; explore educational and career pathways; become proficient in interactions with college classes, instructors and other students; and learn to navigate college systems. This course may confer HS21+ credit for English, occupational education, or electives.
Appropriate placement scores in English Language Acquisition, or a grade of “B-” (2.7) or better in ABE 18 or HSC 18.

Core Topics
Students with 80% or more of outcomes met at 80% or better competency will be awarded one HS21+ credit in Occupational Education, English, or electives, as determined by the faculty. These outcomes may be demonstrated by assignments or portfolio artifacts in any ABE course, as well as evidence from prior learning experiences. Assignments completed as part of this course may also be used to meet outcomes in other HS21+ subject area courses building towards award of credit for those subjects, upon determination of the faculty.
