Description

This is an individualized, self-paced, variable-credit High School Equivalency emporium course. It may confer High School+ credit in any required subject area as assigned by the instructor after a review of student credit requirements.

Prerequisites

Appropriate placement scores in English Language Acquisition, or a grade of “B-” (2.7) or better in ABE 23 or HSC 023.

Course Learning Outcomes

Select and employ basic skills (read, write, speak, listen use language conventions, use math to solve problems & communicate, use digital technology) at college and career ready levels of competency.

Operate within culturally diverse groups as a college and career ready student and professional.

Select strategies appropriate to their own strengths to demonstrate competency across a wide variety of academic tasks through portfolio construction.

Core Topics

This course will serve as an emporium/portfolio class for all Adult Basic Education students, regardless of their individual goal (high school diploma or GED testing). Topics for this course will be derived from instructional topics from the following courses:
