Analyze and apply the principles and process of intaglio printmaking, including:

<li>working methods with traditional and contemporary tools and materials;</li>
<li>plate preparation with hard-ground, soft-ground, and aquatint dusting;</li>
<li>drawing methods of drypoint, line-etching, flat-area aquatinting, and gradated aquatinting;</li>
<li>plate processing of biting and stage-biting;</li>
<li>plate inking and wiping</li>
<li>printing and press operation</li>
</ol>

Analyze and apply the principles of intaglio print design including:
<ol type="a">
<li>strategic planning and implementation of appropriate steps leading from initial intention to final print;</li>
<li>review, refinement and alteration of composition in response to limitations and possibilities of the intaglio medium;</li>
<li>application of drawing and design principles to the development of compositions</li>
</ol>
