Advanced study of the principles and processes of oil and/or acrylic painting. Emphasis on development of individual approaches to form and media. May be repeated.

Analyze and apply the principles of color modulation (including various color palette systems) at an advanced-level.

Analyze and apply the principles of color interpretation (various limited color palettes) at an advanced-level.

Display advanced abilities with traditional and contemporary painting materials and processes (including brush & knife painting, glazing & scumbling applications, canvas, & board surfaces).

Display an understanding of and ability to use abstraction in paintings at an advanced level.

Show increasing development of content and conceptual rigor in painting projects.

Display a strong understanding of artists and developments of painting in the history of art.

Make a cohesive body of work with related documentation and written statements.
