Focuses on assessing patient's (individuals, families, and communities) health status utilizing a holistic approach that integrates pathophysiology, pharmacology and complete health history. This includes physical, psychosocial, and cultural dimensions, therapeutic interview skills, and performing a comprehensive physical exam. - Assessment: multi-generational family assessments, depression screening, nutritional analysis, care across the life span focusing on changing demographics with an emphasis on care of the older adult and the very young, theories of human growth and development, health promotion, linkage to resources and support
- Pathophysiology: infection control issues, drug resistant organism, management of chronic conditions across the life span, integration of pathophysiology into care
