Description

This simulation course will give students the opportunity to demonstrate and apply nursing skills and clinical judgment to scenarios in nursing related to patients across the life span experiencing commonly occurring health problems. This course is taken concurrently with NURS 303.

Apply the nursing process to simulated scenarios related to commonly occurring health problems.

Employ communication strategies, such as ISBAR and DARP, when working with colleagues and patients.

Demonstrate evidence-based teamwork and collaboration strategies, such as TeamSTEPPS, when working with colleagues and patients within simulated scenarios.

Organize safe and effective nursing interventions for patients and families in simulated scenarios.

Core Topics

Simulation activities will focus on exemplars in nursing concepts, in coordination with NURS 303.
