Description

This simulation course will give students the opportunity to demonstrate and apply nursing skills and clinical judgment to scenarios in nursing scenarios related to commonly occurring and complex health problems. This course is taken concurrently with NURS 403.

Apply the nursing process to simulated scenarios of patients with commonly occurring or complex health problems.

Demonstrate effective communication with colleagues and patients in simulated scenarios.

Demonstrate leadership in delegating selected nursing functions to others in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.

Employ evidence-based practice (such as utilization of validated policies and protocols) within a simulated scenarios.

Prioritize nursing interventions to mitigate risk in simulated scenarios.

Core Topics

Simulation activities will focus on exemplars in nursing concepts, in coordination with NURS 403.
