Description

Introduction to the history, theory and practice of human communication. Development of effective communication skills for use in a variety of contexts, including, but not limited to: intrapersonal, interpersonal, intercultural, small group, relationships, workplace/organizational settings and new technology.

Comprehend and explain the historical and theoretical foundations of human communication.

Identify the different communication forms and determine how they are used in various settings for the expression of ideas, thoughts, and feelings.

Effectively and appropriately interact in dyadic (one-on-one) and small groups, including across cultural differences, assuming dual roles of speaker and listener.

Use scholarly research to locate material to support communication goals.
