Description

Preparation and delivery of speeches to a public audience. Focus is on the improvement of one's communication skills through topic choice, research, organization and outlining of content; use of voice, body and self-confidence. Other areas covered are audience listening skills and speaker evaluations.

Prepare a written speech that fits speaker and audience, using scholarly research sources.

Demonstrate understanding and application of standard speech organizing and outlining structure.

Deliver oral speech using appropriate physical and vocal delivery techniques, and presentation tools to exhibit confidence of self and mastery of content in a public setting.

Constructively evaluate speeches employing active listening skills, conversational engagement, and standard evaluation tools.
