Description

A course in engineering professional ethics. This course will focus on ethical situations engineering technology students will face throughout their careers. Research and projects included will be taught from the administrator lens.

Identify and deal successfully with workplace ethical issues and conflict resolution from a supervisory role.

Explain and identify conflicts of interest.

Have a working knowledge of the Whistleblower Protection Program, employee rights and safety. Identify and explain potential issues in the workplace.

Explain the role of leadership and organizational structure (hierarchy) in various business and industry.

Identify and offer supportive evidence of the moral obligations of engineers and engineer technologists.

Explain Kohlberg’s moral development theory.

Explain Gilligan’s moral development theory.

Develop and utilize leadership skills to solve problems encountered in the workplace.
