Description
Develop skills to provide developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant activities/care for children ages 5-12 in a variety of settings. Topics include: implementation of curriculum, preparation of environments, building relationships, guiding cognitive and social emotional development, and community outreach.

- Development of the school-age child in all areas and the impact of family and community culture and community resources.
- Program development, implementation and assessment of programs for the school-age child age group including planning, individualization, environment, health and safety, child guidance and program evaluation.
- Planning routines and activities for the school-age child age group including transitions, active and quiet activities, mealtimes, independence and self-help, group and peer relations, and adult guidance and support.

- Planning developmentally appropriate experiences that support development of the school-age child that includes play, exploration, and social interaction.
