Description

This course acquaints teacher candidates with principal issues in educational practice, and begins developing reflective teaching. Students discuss and reflect on observations of classroom management, instructional methodology, instructional assessment, diversity, exceptional learners, educational legal issues, and educational technology. In this field experience, students work directly with teachers, administrators, and para-educators.

Document activities observed in the Field Experience portion of this course as they relate to classroom management, instructional methodology, instructional assessment, exceptionalities, education legal issues and educational technology and diversity.

Analyze and reflect on the activities observed in the Field Experience portion of this course making explicit connections between theory and practice.

Explain the responsibilities of various school employees and how their work impacts student achievement (administration, non-classroom teachers, counselors, custodians, para-educators, food nutrition staff, school nurse, bus drivers).

Demonstrate the reading and writing skills expected of a teacher.
