Description

An introductory course designed to help each student: improve muscular strength; gain knowledge regarding safety, anatomy, and understanding of weight training theory and practice to be able to develop a personalized weight training program. May be repeated for credit.

  1. Name the major muscle groups of the body.
  2. Know exercises that target each of the major muscle groups of the body
  3. Demonstrate and use proper lifting technique in the basic strength training movements.
  4. Demonstrate participation in a regular strength training program for a 10 week period. Use either a circuit or a free weight program.
