Description

Designed to help students become more aware, prepared, and able to escape, resist, and survive physical assault. Classes will include lecture, discussion, and easy to remember self-defense techniques. No previous martial arts training or physical fitness requirements necessary.

Core Topics

 

  1. Defense against: wrist grabs, hair grab, hand chokes, arm chokes, push-pull, bear hug (front & back).
  2. Car, home, school, work, travel, and walking safety.
  3. Situational awareness.
  4. Sexual Harassment, date rape & date rape drugs, electronic harassment, stalking.
  5. Body Weaknesses/Body Weapons/Weapons of Opportunity
  6. Personal safety weapons/every day carry items- Whistle, Mace, Pepper Spray, taser, Kubotan, phone, gun.
  7. Safety strategies: 4 A’s of Self-defense, OODA.
  8. Ground Defense
