Description

This course will provide the citizen responder with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life and to minimize pain and the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional help arrives. Fulfills requirements for CPR/AED First Aid certification.

Demonstrate competencies required for Emergency Care and Safety Institute through the Basic Life Skills of First Aid and CPR/AED certification.

Demonstrate the ability to meet emergencies with confidence, knowledge and skills. Understanding your rights as First Responder to an emergency.

Demonstrate the ability to recognize and appropriately deal with sudden illness or injury.

Explain ways to protect oneself from disease while dealing with an emergency

Recognize and assess emergency situations.

Recognize culturally diverse emergency situations and asking for consent to help with the emergency.

Identify and analyze available resources to use in the case of an emergency.
