Description

Provides a combination of the theoretical background and technical aspects needed to lead and manage groups in a winter environment. Topics include navigation with map and compass; avalanche awareness and assessment and risk-management. Lecture and experiential place-based learning will familiarize students with local winter environments and recreational opportunities.
