Description

Designed for individuals working and/or recreating in remote wilderness areas. Wilderness First Aid (WFA) covers emergency response, assessment of and treatment given to an ill or injured person in a remote environment where definitive care is not readily available. Lecture and hands-on work includes CPR/AED training.

Demonstrate how to perform an initial assessment on a patient.

Develop an understanding of making an evacuation decision for a patient in a remote setting.

Demonstrate competencies required for an American Safety and Health Institute CPR/AED certification

Demonstrate the ability to recognize and appropriately deal with sudden illness or injury
