Description

Designed to introduce commonly used metal fabrication techniques. Including but not limited to: measuring instrumentation, metal preparation, welding, machines (drills, saws, grinders, mills and lathes) and metal bending devices. Emphasis placed on the safe use of tooling, pre-planning and fabrication of structurally sound projects.

Course Learning Outcomes

Use measuring instruments such as dial indicators, protractors, scales, squares, levels or micrometers.

Plan a fabrication project in a manner conducive to a productive work environment.

Safely use metal working equipment such as chop saws, grinders, welders, breaks, punches, torches.

Use “shop” drawings to complete a project.
