Description

Conclusion of study of the fundamental elements of Latin with equal emphasis on reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. The classical pronunciation will be used in class, although Italian (liturgical) pronunciation can be given attention at the student's request.

Course Learning Outcomes

Use and understand all basic grammar, including all indicative, subjunctive and imperative verb forms.

Read and discuss the stories in the Familia Romana (21-31).

Read, write, speak, and compose in Latin within the limits of the grammar covered.

Describe in Latin the aspects of life presented in Vita Nostra I, chapter V and Vita Nostra II, chapter I (the home and household activities).

Completion of chapters 21-31 of Ørberg’s (a) Pars I: Familia Romana, (b) Exercitia Latina I, (c.) Latine Disco: Student’s Manual, and (d) Grammatica Latina.
Reading, writing, speaking, and composition skills within the limits of the grammar covered.
