In-depth training in the practical and theoretical subjects associated with hematology, hemostasis, immunology, serology and immunohematology.

Prerequisites

BIOL& 242 and concurrent enrollment in MLT 210 and MLT 214

Demonstrate a firm grasp of the names of blood cells as they develop from the least mature to the most mature form.

Grasp the principles in the normal and abnormal development of blood cells.

Demonstrate a firm grasp of hemotological testing and its correlation to disease states

Display a facility of understanding automated hemotology analysis

Display a facility of understanding the fundamental principles and tests of hemostasis in both health and disease.

Show a firm grasp of the subject, Immunohematology, the related tests and their application to transfusion medicine.

Exhibit a good understanding of the subject of Immunology, and the serologic tests used to assess health and disease exposure.
