A select vocal performance ensemble: Participation will involve numerous performances and varied community outreach activities. Audition required. May be repeated for credit.

Course Learning Outcomes

Further know a variety of choral literature designed for use with a small ensemble, namely vocal chamber literature.

Further acquire continued mastery of proper vocal/choral technique, namely,
<ol type="a">
<li>proper posture and breathing</li>
<li>production of tone</li>
<li>accurate pitch within a section and in relation to other sections</li>
<li>accurate execution of rhythmic figures in the same contexts,</li>
<li>the ability to sing phrases</li>
<li>the ability to match vowel sounds</li>
<li>the ability to involve an audience in the music by the use of individual expression</li>
</ol>

Enhance sight reading skills

Expand knowledge of classical choral repertoire.

Enrich appreciation of music through the singing of excellent choral literature.

Learn a diversity of musical styles and periods.

Acquire knowledge of choral literature in a diversity of foreign languages, namely, German, Italian, French and Latin.

Perform with a variety of accompaniments.
