Description

A continuation of RADT 132: to include radiographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations of the chest, bony thorax, skull, sinus, facial bones, abdomen and digestive system. Experience is gained in the energized lab and practical competency assessments reinforce principles learned in lecture.

Course Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate correct manipulation of the x-ray equipment.

Use positioning nomenclature including body planes and positioning terminology.

Begin to evaluate radiographic orders for accuracy and completeness.

Demonstrate proper use of positioning aids and lead protection.

Demonstrate general room prep, patient and positioning considerations to include but not limited to clinical competency requirements of ARRT for the upper and lower extremities: finger, thumb, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, humerus, shoulder, clavicle, scapula, and AC joints, toes, calcaneous, foot, ankle, knee, tibia-fibula, femur, and patella.

Demonstrate satisfactory performance in a variety of upper and lower extremity exams listed on the clinical competency requirements of ARRT.

Interact politely, professionally, and ethically with other members of the health care team.
