An intensive course in basic math principles and math-specific study skills to improve student performance in developmental math.

Course Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate mastery of basic math “trouble spots” including operations on signed numbers, fractions, order of operations, and strategies for solving word problems.

Explain and apply math-specific study skills, including time management, goal setting, note-taking, math exam preparation, test anxiety reduction, and brain-based learning strategies to their math courses.

Be aware of the effects of negative self-talk on math performance.

Identify and utilize relevant on-campus resources for math.

Identify online resources and demonstrate competency navigating online resources to strengthen math foundation
