Description

Continuation of PHARM 150 providing continuation of the study United States Pharmacopeia’s (USP’s) General Chapter Pharmaceutical Compounding-Sterile Preparations <797> . Students will demonstrate compliance with fundamental aseptic technique requirements.

  1. Evolution and overview of aseptic processing.
  2. Facilities basics including primary and secondary engineering controls
  3. Sterile product categorization.
  4. Compounding basics in laminar airflow systems
  5. Introduction to USP <800> and Hazardous Drug compounding
  6. Core competencies in aseptic technique
  7. Develop workflow process until the final check.
  8. Simulation of sterile compounding, using different mediums.
