Description

A continuation of RADT 122 and analysis of permanent radiographic equipment, AEC, fluoroscopy, mobile equipment and systems of technique formation. Continued discussion of the quality management process, quality control and associated government and accreditation standards. Image evaluation and laboratory exercises reinforce theoretical principles presented in lecture.

Course Learning Outcomes

Identify and discuss permanent radiographic equipment installation, operation, and accessories.

Describe the purpose, components and operation of AEC, fluoroscopy equipment and mobile equipment.

Utilize radiation protection practices for the patient, self and others when operating AEC, fluoroscopy and mobile equipment.

Explain the purpose of various technique chart formation and discuss considerations in technique selection.

Discuss concepts of quality management and the quality control tests for imaging equipment.

Show satisfactory ability to accurately, consistently and efficiently perform imaging procedures in the RADT laboratory.
