Description

Continuation of ASL&221. Focuses on expanded student discourse and narratives. Special emphasis on role-shift variations, organizational structures, analysis and application of: classifiers, non-manual markers, lexical fingerspelling, and numerical incorporation. Includes an introduction to ASL Poetry.

Demonstrate receptive comprehension of ASL discourse as presented by instructor and/or in videos.

Exhibit the ability to initiate, sustain and actively participate in ASL conversations relating to a range of work, social and educational topic with peers.

Express appropriate grammatical non-manual behaviors and the related meanings within a range of discourse events.

Distinguish the differences between Deaf and Hearing culture by demonstrating sensitivity and understanding of Deaf culture and Deaf history perspectives.

Create projects that showcase their knowledge of ASL artistic forms.
