Continued study of the principles and processes of oil and/or acrylic painting.

Course Learning Outcomes

Analyze and apply the principles of color modulation (including various color palette systems) at an intermediate-level.

Analyze and apply the principles of color interpretation (various limited color palettes) at an intermediate-level.

Display experience with traditional and contemporary painting materials and processes (including brush & knife painting, glazing & scumbling applications, canvas, & board surfaces).

Display an intermediate understanding of and ability to use abstraction in paintings.

Show increasing development of content and conceptual rigor in painting projects.

Have a general understanding of artists and developments of painting in the history of art.
