Dra. María Morales-Sánchez has experience in higher education, primarily in faculty and instructional roles, teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels and working extensively with pre-service teachers and interdisciplinary programs. Her teaching and community work span classroom, carceral, and international settings. As an undergraduate student, she studied with the Mexico Solidarity Network in an intensive program focused on Mexican history, political economy, and social movements. She has since facilitated immersive learning experiences in Oaxaca and Chiapas, Mexico, guiding students in the study of language, culture, political economy, and environmental justice.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Morales-Sanchez has engaged in community-based initiatives focused on equity and education. She is a published author in academic journals and edited volumes.
