Description

Focuses on the development, design and implementation of advanced programming ladder logic using tag-based data organization. Class focuses on the useful 'tag-naming' of PLC outputs, inputs and their use in PLC logic. Tag-naming enables students to construct PLC programs that are readable and understandable by tradespersons across industry.

Develop sub-routine PLC software strategies.

Identify and apply the proper data organization and file management routines for a specific application.

Differentiate between relay instructions, comparisons, and sequencer control strategies.

Examine and explain PID control loops.

Possess industry entry-level knowledge and skills in PLC programming for various equipment manufacturers using Tag names.

Solve elementary PLC circuit control problems and relate these problem-solving practices to areas of electronics and related industrial technology disciplines such as refrigeration and agricultural food processing industries.
