Description

Introduces the many networks for online communications, including Serial, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus and Ethernet networks. Also use network technology to multicast input devices, share data between controllers and control remote I/O.

Design and implement network strategies with various programmable logic controllers.

Apply sub-routine PLC software strategies with various networks.

Identify and apply the proper data organization and node configurations for various types of network controllers.

Differentiate between ControlNet™, DeviceNet™, Profibus™, and Ethernet networks.

Examine and explain PID control loops and nodes on the network.

Demonstrate an industry entry-level knowledge and skills base in PLC networks for various equipment manufacturers.

Solve elementary PLC network control problems and relate these problem-solving practices to the areas of electronics and related industrial technology disciplines such as refrigeration and agricultural food processing industries.

Build simple and complex PLC network circuits.
