- Continuation of skills and techniques learned in Art 150 including the following:
- Handbuilding techniques, including pinch, coil and slab methods.
- Wheel throwing techniques, including functional and non-functional ware, thrown and altered forms, various sizes and shapes, lid making, trimming.
- Firing techniques, including bisque, Raku, high-fire, low-fire.
- Surface decoration, including underglaze, glaze, surface texture, smoke firing.
- Materials and methods, including making clay and glazes.
- Exploration of the history of ceramics in various cultures.
- Students will have increased responsibility for the direction of their own work. Degree of skill and complexity increase.
- Further exploration into historical context of world ceramics.
