Description

Clinical experience in advanced medical-surgical and community health nursing. Application of advanced nursing concepts emphasized. Clinical experiences in a variety of settings, to include community health, acute care and the WVC simulation lab. Formerly NURS 202L.

Acceptance to the Nursing Program and concurrent enrollment with the following: NURS 202, NURS 252, PHIL 202. NUTR 202, PSYC 203

Course Learning Outcomes

Prioritize safe, culturally competent client care for multiple clients with urgent/emergent health problems.

Modify the plan of care as needed for clients with urgent/emergent health problems.

Coordinate client care with other members of the healthcare team, including delegation of client care to appropriate team members.

Utilize effective verbal and nonverbal communication during interactions with clients, families and other healthcare professionals.

Integrate professionalism into individual nursing practice as it relates to client advocacy, safety and with professional boundaries.
