Description
An introduction to the theory, principles, equipment, contrast media, accessories and practices regarding special radiographic examinations to include but not limited to: surgical, mobile, CNS, GI, urinary, musculoskeletal, circulatory, respiratory, biliary, reproductive and salivary systems.

Core Topics

Continued orientation to the x-ray lab and equipment; positioning terminology; and general procedural considerations will be covered for the following systems to include but not limited to clinical competency requirements of ARRT: urologic studies-IVU, retrograde urography, cystography, cystourethrography, hysteosalpingography; Biliary system: ERCP, cholangiography; and special studies of the central nervous and musculoskeletal system: arthrography, myelography; circulatory, respiratory, reproductive, and salivary; to include purpose, indications, contraindications, history, interview, physical assessment, anatomy, sterile technique, contrast media, imaging equipment operation.
