Description

Discussion and application of advanced nursing care concepts for the client with acute and/or complex health problems. This course includes presentation of advanced mental health concepts as well as essential concepts related community health nursing.

Acceptance to the Nursing Program and concurrent enrollment with the following: NURS 201, NURS 251, PHIL 201. PSYC 202

Course Learning Outcomes

Organize safe, patient-centered, culturally competent care for clients in a variety of care settings including those with urgent/emergent and mental health problems.

Construct a plan of care for clients in a variety of health-care settings.

Begin to integrate leadership and delegation skills as a collaborative member of the health care team in a variety of care settings.

Utilize effective verbal and non-verbal communication techniques in clinical practice.

Develop an individualized nursing practice, based on a knowledge of professional, ethical and legal responsibilities.
