Description

Focuses on the role of nutrition in the care and management of clients with urgent and/or emergent health problems. Emphasis will be place on the role of nutrition in health restoration. Content is integrated with NURS 202.

Acceptance to the Nursing Program and concurrent enrollment with the following: NURS 202, NURS 252, PHIL 202. NUTR 202, PSYC 203

Course Learning Outcomes

Prioritize nutritional assessment/reassessment of the client with urgent/emergent endocrine, renal, musculoskeletal, neurosensory, fluid and electrolyte, and acid/base problems.

Evaluate pharmacologic, nutritional, IV fluid, and electrolyte replacement interventions for the client with urgent/emergent health problems.
