NURS 100: Nurse Assistant: Basic Patient Care
NURS 101: Foundations of Nursing I
An introduction to concepts fundamental to the art and science of nursing. Discussion/application of evidence-based strategies for physical, nutritional, cultural, and psychosocial assessment of clients. Emphasis is placed on the role of the nurse in promoting client safety, and in achieving optimal client outcomes.
NURS 102: Foundations of Nursing II
The second of two nursing fundamentals courses. Continued discussion and application of fundamental nursing concepts, focusing on the role of the nurse in promoting health and wellness.
NURS 103: Health and Illness I
This course is the first in a series of four health and illness concept courses. In this course, students will apply health and illness concepts to the care of patients with acute and chronic conditions.

NURS 123: Maternal/Newborn Nursing
In this course, students will explore holistic nursing care of the childbearing family, the newborn, the infant, and reproduction.
NURS 141: Foundations in Nursing Practice: Skills Lab I
This course introduces the nursing student to the application of concepts through the development of clinical skills in the laboratory setting. Students will participate in supervised practice, and skills competency validation.
NURS 151: Nursing Clinical I

NURS 152: Nursing Clinical II
In this course, students will incorporate knowledge of fundamental nursing concepts while providing evidence-based, person-centered care, in the acute-care setting.
NURS 153: Nursing Clinical III
In this course, students will incorporate knowledge of fundamental nursing concepts while providing evidence-based, person-centered care, in the acute-care and/or community-based setting.
NURS 161: Nursing Simulation I
In this course, students will apply fundamental nursing concepts when providing simulated, person-centered care across the lifespan.
NURS 162: Nursing Simulation II
In this course, students will apply fundamental nursing concepts, and provide developmentally appropriate care for patients in the simulated environment.
NURS 163: Nursing Simulation III
In this course, students will apply health and illness and reproductive concepts to the care of patients and family members in the simulated environment.
NURS 201: Advanced Nursing Concepts I
Discussion and application of advanced nursing care concepts for the client with acute and/or complex health problems. This course includes presentation of advanced mental health concepts as well as essential concepts related community health nursing.

NURS 210: Senior Seminar I
This course employs the use of patient-care scenarios, case-studies, NCLEX style questions, and other learning activities to assist students in developing improved clinical judgment, and to promote success on the NCLEX-RN.
NURS 214: Senior Seminar II
This seminar is designed to help prepare students to succeed on the NCLEX-RN, and for entry into the workforce. Complex patient-care scenarios, case-studies and other learning activities are designed to assist students in the development of clinical judgment and improved decision making.
NURS 251: Advanced Nursing Concepts I Practice Lab
Clinical experiences in a variety of healthcare settings and with increasing complexity and numbers of clients. Clinical experience and simulation activities will allow students to integrate and apply concepts from this and previous nursing courses. Includes an acute mental-health rotation/experience. Formerly NURS 201L.

NUTR 105: Nutrition In Healthcare I
An introduction to the concept of nutrition, as it relates to health and well-being.
NUTR 106: Nutrition In Healthcare II
In this course, students will explore the importance of nutrition, as it relates to the health and well-being of patients across the lifespan.
NUTR 107: Nutrition In Healthcare III
In this course, students will explore the role of nutrition in the prenatal and perinatal periods. Students will also explore nutritional needs of the newborn and infant.
NUTR 202: Nutrition In Healthcare IV
Focuses on the role of nutrition in the care and management of clients with urgent and/or emergent health problems. Emphasis will be place on the role of nutrition in health restoration. Content is integrated with NURS 202.
PHARM 101: Foundations of Pharmacology in Nursing
This course introduces the student to pharmacology. Pharmacologic concepts included in this course are pharmacokinetics, routes of administration, dosage calculation, therapeutic effects, side and adverse effects, interactions, contraindications, and principles of safe medication administration.
PHARM 102: Pharmacology In Nursing II
Pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics of drugs. This course discusses safety concerns related to scope of practice, accurate dosage calculations, medication administration and monitoring, route of administration, as well as special considerations across the lifespan in prevention and treatment of chronic illness.
PHARM 103: Pharmacology In Nursing III
Pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics of medications used to treat chronic health problems and infections. This course discusses the safety concerns related to scope of practice, accurate dosage calculations, medication administration and monitoring, and route of administration, with a focus on use of the intravenous route.
PHIL 105: Ethics and Policy In Healthcare I
An introduction to ethical and legal issues and policies relevant to health care.
PHIL 201: Ethics and Policy In Healthcare II
Analysis of ethical and legal issues relevant to the healthcare professions through an integrated format.
PHIL 202: Ethics and Policy In Healthcare III
Focuses on the ethical and legal issues when managing a patient with urgent/emergent health concerns, as a member of the healthcare team.
PHIL 203: Ethics and Policy In Healthcare IV
Focuses on healthcare management of patients with complex, multi system acute and chronic pathological processes throughout the lifespan. Emphasis on ethics and healthcare policy and how it will impact the health of the adult and pediatric patient. By permission only.
PSYC 105: Psychosocial Issues In Healthcare I
An introduction to psychosocial issues in healthcare.
PSYC 202: Psychosocial Issues In Healthcare II
In this course, students will explore nursing care of patients related to psychosocial issues, across the lifespan.
PSYC 203: Psychosocial Issues In Healthcare III
Special emphasis will be placed on exploration of psychosocial issues that arise in clients with acute and/or emergent health problems. This course examined the role of the healthcare professional in providing care for these clients. Content is integrated with NURS 202.
PSYC 204: Psychosocial Issues In Healthcare IV
Examines psychosocial health, and determinants of health and illness across the lifespan. This course is taught in an integrated format with NURS 203.
